Does anyone have LASIK? If so, how was your experience?
I am considering it, but it's so much money!
And to be perfectly honest, I can't justify it as a need either. I don't think. It may seem like an useful life improvement, but the truth is, I could also live with just glasses for the rest of my life.
I don't know. What do you think?

My biggest piece of advice is to do your research before hand. Find a good doctor and ask him questions before commiting.

I too used flexible spending -- plus I got a deal through my employer. But be sure to go with a reputable company. No fooling around with your eyes!

Also realize that LASIK cannot fix the age related hardening of the lens (forget the fancy term), which is what leads people to need reading glasses. One option is to get your eyes corrected for monovision (one eye corrected for distance, one eye corrected for close up), which may put off the need for reading glasses for a few years. But some people can't deal with monovision and eventually you will most likely still need reading glasses.
As CB mentioned, be sure to find out what your surgeon's policy for touch up surgeries is. Some include it, some don't. The stronger your prescription going into surgery, the more likely you are to need a touch up procedure.
