Black Friday preps

November 27th, 2009 at 03:30 am

What are you doing for Black Friday?

As for me, I plan to avoid the crowded traffic and the general hassles of the shopping frenzy at all cost. Although I may run out real quick, mostly, I'm just going to stay home.

I... don't think I will ever understand the point of being out on Black Friday. If there's actually a benefit to this, please clue me in.

In the meantime, I've already prepared a crockpot for tomorrow. I'm experimenting (again) with a variation of the Italian chicken recipe. Crossing my fingers, I hope it will turn out well.

Speaking of experimental cooking, anybody ever seen caviar parfait before? It's one of the most

Sometimes there really is a sale that is good enough to make it worth it. I always laugh though, because no matter what, we generally get a cold front on Thanksgiving. We've been in the near 90's all week, and tonight it's supposed to be in the mid 40's. I know that's nothing for most of the country, but it's pretty chilly for Florida.

I haven't decided if I am going out tomorrow or not ... but all my daughter wants for Christmas is a DS, and the sale on the games at Walmart is ALMOST enough to get me going ... I just have to decide if it's worth it or not.

I don't get going out to shop at such early hours just for the possibility of a "deal". But maybe I just don't have anything I want desperately enough to be willing to give up a chance to sleep in. Smile

I'm staying home and catching up on some paperwork. My dh says he is going shopping but there is NO WAY I'd want to fight the crowds, so he'll be going alone.

No crowds at Meijers this morning. My son wanted the PS3, so I ventured out to make sure I got one. The deal was - buy a PS3, get four games, 2 regular and 2 Blu-Ray for FREE. The last time I bought a gaming system was the PS2 in 2001 and it still works great today.

I never shop on Black Friday. I was, in fact, driving home to CT from NJ this morning and then relaxed the rest of the day; i did a bit of Xmas shopping online, but not much else.

There aren't any good enough deals for me to venture out. Plus, I still have a ton of school works to wade through. *cry*

The food may look stunning, but it ruined my appetite for some reasons. Maybe it's the syringe and white gloves.

I stayed in. I just could not find one thing I HAD to buy! We came back home today from my mother's house and I looked at the deals online again. Still nothing that exciting. I did feel compelled to order the "free after Staples Rewards" batteries though. I don't even need batteries for anything, but I know some folks I can give them to. I'll have no problem flipping the rewards for a profit when I get them in January. Big Grin

Definitely not a Black Friday retail shopper. NEVER will be either if I have my druthers. I did buy an ING 2% 12 month Certificate of Deposit today. Does that count?

    As they say,

"The poor buy stuff, the rich buy assets".

Not sure as the measley 2% will help classify me as rich, but at least I didn't add to the clutter here at my house! Big Grin
