Back to BBB

November 25th, 2008 at 01:18 am

If there is one silver lining to this bleak economy, it is that companies out there are just dying for your business.

My personal favorite is Bed Bath & Beyond right now. They used to send 20% off single item coupons, which isn't that bad in itself, but now, they're also resorting to $10 off for at least $30 of purchases, regardless of how many items you pick up.

That's a 33.3% return! Guaranteed!

I've already went on a happy little spree with the first one, buying up basic toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpastes, and shampoo. But seeing as how BB&B is nice to send another one of these coupons, I've decided to go back for more!

This time, I may hit the soaps, TPs, and paper towels if they have them. I don't know how long they intend to keep this madness up, but if they keep sending it, I'll keep buying! I'll stock the entire closet full of TPs if I have to. Woohoo!

Yes, now that I don't need it, I see their coupons everywhere. I really wanted one back in late October for my mom's birthday gift, but couldn't find anything anywhere. I even signed up for their mailing list, but didn't get a coupon in time. Now, today, I got a flyer with a $5 off $15 coupon. They do have some neat stuff, although one thing I saw today in their ad made me laugh - a "mangroomer". It's a do-it-yourself electric back hair shaver. What happens if the do-it-yourselfer missing some spots while shaving?!

Haha. Mangroomer. I've never heard of that before, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that.

Honestly, I'd hate to attempt my own hair cut. Thought about the Flowbee before, but for now, I still go to the hair salon on the days when they're running specials on men's haircuts.

BA, you're just having too much frugal fun!

Heh. BB&B's prices on their everyday toiletries anyway are no different than anywhere else, and yet, they're willing to offer as much as a third off. It's practically a steal.

Unfortunately, it turns out that they don't have any TPs, but I can still stock up on quite a bit of other stuff.

I was expecting and entry on junk bonds. I feel cheated, misled, even bamboozled.

In the end, I should have known - caveat emptor.

Hehe. I read an article once that BBB rated agencies selling bonds could spell Buy Buy Buy at this point. I personally have no need to invest in individual bonds right now, but I'd be more than happy to look into it if they'll send me a one-third off coupon!
