Hallelujah yes!
My first paycheck from the new employer just posted, and everything looks good!
Earlier in the week, I checked the new employer's website and saw that our direct deposit had not been set up yet. However, it could be done online, so I set it up myself. This morning, I'm happy to see that it worked as it should.
Another snag was whether the new Fidelity 401(k) was working or not, and I am pleased to report that it's working beautifully! In fact, unlike my old 401(k), which takes a few days to update in my account, Fidelity's account is updated about as quickly as my direct deposit! I think I'm going to love my new 401(k)!
With my money in the bank account, I just finished paying off all but one of my bills (but only because the website is down). It's a very cathartic experience to get the bills caught up again. I hate falling behind.
And because the 401(k) contribution is down to a normal size again, my paycheck is also bigger than what I am normally used to. However, my budget won't change, and instead, I can begin rebuilding my EF in earnest.
Oh and on the side, I used another 1/3rd off coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond. This time I swiped it from my mom. Well, I did ask first at least, and she was fine with it. More for the stockpile!

The sign-up process is interesting because, despite knowing that Fidelity has a massive array of funds and asset classes to choose from, they only provide about a dozen or so funds to select during sign-up. I think that's smart of them to not to overwhelm people with too many choices in the beginning.
And for now, I don't know if I really want to get involved with Fidelity with more than just the 401(k) yet, so that's why I've only chosen that one fund. We'll have to see....

Wow a 1/3 off coupon at BBB... all I ever get are the 20% off coupons. I do love that my BBB even takes coupons that have expired and they even used to take the coupons from Linens N Things.

They have a new section set up for basic toiletries that the prices are as good as anywhere else, but with the coupons, they become the cheapest price available.
So, just the basic stuff. Toothbrushes, toothpastes, soap, shampoo, even Q-tips, band-aids and so forth.

I don't pick up toothbrushes because a dental rep gave us hundreds of them when we thought about changing the company plan. Yeah, they're sitting here by my desk and I just can't figure out what to do with them!

My former company changed HR companies and it took 4 paychecks before things were 'normal'. Of course the 5th paycheck from that company was also my last ...
I agree with the others, CVS / Walgreens is a great way to get toiletries for free - you just have to not care too much about what brands you're getting.

As for brands, oh no, I always buy generic brands. So, that's not going to be a problem.

I also go to Walgreens. At the first of the month there are a list of items that if you buy them, you can receive a rebate check. I do all of my rebates with Walgreens online. You just have to list the receipt number and the item and they store it for you until you're ready to claim your rebates. If you choose a gift card instead, they will add 10% to your card. It's amazing how many shampoos, makeup, facial cleansers and moisturizers, neil polish that I've received free. Check it out.
