Gas bill update

Well, I'm happy to report that my efforts to lower the gas bill is finally reaping some rewards. My latest gas bill just came in at around $67, which is comparable to the days when I was sleeping in the closet. Except now, I don't have to. So, it's kind of like progress or something.... Yay. Big Grin

    Way to go! I've missed if you have explained how you accomplished this. Did you have to get a new furnace or something?

    Well, part of it is from further experimenting with passive heating (that is, trying to retain my own body heat as much as possible). The result is a lot more mundane than I'm probably making it sound here.

    But the other part is that I realized the heater is faulty, so before, the heater needed to work harder to maintain the same temperature. But it's fixed now.

    I think it also helped that my goal this year to was try to stay at 50 degrees, whereas earlier, I was operating at 55.

    Thats pretty impressive @ 50degrees . I dont know what state you live in, but in some states you can also save on your gas bill simply by who you choose for your gas provider. My company is expanding into 5 more states soon. Its great to help people like you save money & to think I get paid to do it! It doesn't get much better than that. Stay warm enough & good luck with your goal.

    Hey, ANY time you can get away without sleeping in the closet, that's something that leads in the right direction. =) I'm glad that you now have some insurance that your efforts weren't all in vain. Stay toasty!
